Oak Park

Well this summer I am living in Oak Park! One thing I love about being up here is how much more architecture there is to look at.

I'm also enjoying a larger selection of gluten free foods :) The hole in my pocket is not, however!

Conservatory

Went to the conservatory today, these guys thought they'd say hello! :)

Also did some plant petting.

Pavlova!

Today I had the sudden craving for pavlova, its been forever it seems since I had it. I was so happy when I realized today that it is gluten free :) The picture isn't great and it looks slightly scary with all that red, but it was delicious!

re-design

Hello! Well it seems I only find the time time write on here during my breaks. As you can see I decided to re-do the blog's design. I went for something simple and cheerful and had fun water coloring the top :) Perhaps I was inspired by Spring being right around the corner!!

DIY Comp Book

Alright, so here's an easy DIY that mom first did for me in my Christmas countdown and now I've done one. They're really easy! You just need:

- a mini composition book
- some pretty paper
- glue (I used the wonderful ATG gun)
- ribbon (if you want to add a bookmark)

You can buy these in packs at wal-mart.

I thought about adding some more things but thought simple was better!

Haiti

Well in a few days it will be a year since I was in Haiti. I even had a dream about it the other night, maybe its a sign I need to go back! Wandering in the mountains was truly amazing. Here's one of the photos I took on a morning hike.

The path we were following up the mountain.

Well hello there.

thanksgiving

Ah my favorite week of the year! This was our table when mom and I set out to start decorating the house, sad to think all of that work will now be taken down in the next few days.

The table all set for eating.

Decorating one of the trees! I still love this American girl doll ornament (Felicity).

home sweet home

These are from fall break (October). From a town of 100, to 550, to 1,000...I'm certainly moving up in the world! These are the grain bins on our street.

I recently did a project where I designed a website for dulcimer enthusiasts. It was nice to get mom's dulcimer out to take some photos, I think its time I refreshed my memory on how to play.

Our house in the fall :)

Geese swimming at the "lake" near the park.

Rapha House

Here is another project! This one is from my sophomore year. The organization shown here, Rapha House, is a non-profit organization committed to ending the trafficking and sexual exploitation of children. I created this poster to help create awareness of their program and encourage others to educate themselves and take initiative learn or do something about it. Too bad it was just a school project. But I did happen to meet some of the ladies from Rapha House at a convention in Orlando, FL this summer just by happen-chance!

globus

Well the semester came to an end quick, but here are some photos of my favorite project from the year: Globus. This was a re-design of a travel magazine which does tours all around the world. I chose to specifically re-design certain spreads from the Asia travel magazine. If you want to see more check out my behance at http://www.behance.net/gallery/GLOBUS/5955665

first post!

Well I'm not really sure what this blog will be about, but I just want it to be an extension of my pinterest - basically it will be a place to share things that make me smile or inspire me. I'll also post updates about my work and things I am making. Enjoy!
